Octoburrrrr
How is October already over?!
The start of October was COLD. We didn't have our heater hooked up yet and the garage wasn't insulated or closed up so the house was damp and chilly. We both got sick, Dwight had Strep Throat, and ear infection and a nasty cold & I luckily was hit with only the cold. One night we had my parents and grandparents over for dinner to give them a tour of the house. While looking at the house my grandpop said "You should really close up the garage and hook up your heating before winter comes, pipes might freeze." To which we said, "Yeah we're getting there, just have to find the time to do it." Dwight works until 8 most nights and is gone the next morning by 6. So finding time to build a wall, lay stone, pour concrete and level out the garage wasn't on the top of our to-do list. With that being said, the next day my grandfather showed and started building a wall to close up our crawl space and garage. Between the wall, stone, new windows & door, concrete and jacking the floor up a tad bit he was a man on a mission and got all of this done in about 3 days. To which I am beyond thankful because as soon as they did close up the garage...it got really cold outside (hence the title) and then we were able to hook our heat up since the garage was finished! Super exciting stuff. Honestly because there's no way we would've had it done by now.
Mid October was good, on a whim I painted the front door red and we did some traditional fall things like eat our weight in apple cider donuts. We were also able to squeeze in a camping trip and a few motorcycle rides. And then in the blink of an eye it was nearing Halloween night. Dwight, our friend Jake and I went to West Chester University to celebrate Halloween. To summarize the night I peed in the mens bathroom (girls bathroom lines are always too long lets be honest) and I wiped out down a flight of stairs. Needless to say I welcomed November with a slight headache.
And just like that November was well on it's way. Which is totally fine with me because that means turkey, stuffing and gravy are near in sight!
