End of Summer...Start of a New Chapter

Summer was good to me. I think my favorite memory was having the incredible chance to travel to California with my grandmother, aunt and cousin. Summer also brought some pretty big changes this year. On Labor Day, I decided to take the jump (or skydive) and move in with my boyfriend of three months-yes, three months. From the start of our relationship I had a lot of say in what paint colors to use, furniture to buy and how to decorate the place. "It'll be your house one day I want you to like it!" Weeks passed by and he casually said "Let's move your stuff in" and now here we are. Home.

Home is where you dance in the kitchen to Disney songs, yell at your boyfriend for drinking out of the milk jug, completely burn dinner to a crisp by accident and the place where you grow, learn, love and cry. I have more bills and responsibilities around the house now and sometimes when I think everything is piling up on me, a man who just got done working a 13 hour shift walks in the door with muddy boots that sprinkle dirt and grime all over the kitchen floor that I just cleaned, throws his dirty clothes in a pile for me to wash and looks at me with tired big brown eyes and all of a sudden my “problems” evaporate. Because of him I’m able to work part-time. I’m able to pick and choose if I want to work extra hours in the week. I’m able to go out to breakfast with the women of his family on Friday mornings. I’m able to live in a gorgeous home with a beautiful yard.  I have grown so much here because of him. Home is where your soulmate is. I absolutely adore our little cozy home. From the fuzzy blankets in the living room to the old, worn wooden floors, I really couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to be. Even with mud all over the kitchen floor.
