Things to do at Lake Wallenpaupack- Winter Edition

In the spring and summer be sure to visit their park which is connected to the parking lot, there's a swinging bridge! THE SWINGING BRIDGE IS CLOSED DURING THE WINTER!

Alright if you're out at Holly Ross be sure to stop in here!
This place has it ALL. Kid friendly too! In the front it's an ice cream and smoked BBQ restaurant. Their meats are delicious- I almost always get the pulled pork. Behind that section there's a home goods & decor section. They have dishtowels, furniture, candles, coasters, cups, lamps, rugs, soap, jewelry signs and any other country home decorations. Behind that section is an ARCADE. The arcade had tons of old games like pac-man, asteroid and more. There's a kids toy section connected to that and then in the very back is a Gem Mining section for children! Also, they have a penny candy section. I could spend hours here.

Alright this one is for the men...Rudys is a power sport dealership. Dirtbikes, fourwheelers, side by sides, snowmobiles, and more! They have new and pre-owned toys. There's a cabin inside it and an indoor koi fish pond. They have helmets, and riding clothes and little gifts & goodies too! If you're out that way remember to stop by Baer Sport Center which is down the road. Baer is a Harley Davidson and Polaris dealer! They're both fun to walk around!

American Candle
Okay now hear me out- American Candle is about an hour south of Lake Wallenpaupack in Bartonsvillle. BUT if you're coming from that way or if you're down by the Poconos it's worth the drive! This place has EVERYTHING. Beautiful home decor, Vera Bradley clothes & bags, Alex & Ani bracelets, Pandora Rings, Swvarski jewelry, candles, gifts, cabin decor, wine decor, and a HUGE candy room! Tons of toys for kids and lots of home goods. It's worth the drive and perfect for a cold day to wander around inside!

The Glass Hat
The Glass Hat is an Antique Store in Hamlin. It has collectables, china, country furniture, gifts and they even have a Christmas room- YEAR ROUND. I always poke me head in and see if I can find a treasure.

Ledges Hotel
Looking for a place to eat? I highly recommend Ledges Hotel! In the winter it's pretty much dead at the lake BUT at Ledges they have a waterfall that you can see while dining and it's typically frozen by January. It's beautiful! The food is good & well priced. It's fancy but not too fancy. They do have a bar and a menu online!

Skiing!
There's a few places you could go, but my top two would be Big Boulder or Camelback!
You can ski, snowboard or tube at either! With trails from beginner to expert you'll have it all at either places.

Wallenpaupack Brewing Company
Great food and great craft beer! It's fairly new and their beer is locally crafted in Hawley! I've been here twice so far and have had great experiences both times. Staff is friendly and is very knowledgable on the brewing process!

Kalahari Resort
Looking for bowling? A spa? An indoor waterpark? A huge arcade? Virtual reality? Escape rooms? Mini Golf? Shopping? Kalahari has it! This huge indoor water park & more is an african themed getaway! You can get day passes to the water park or just wander around and see what they have to offer! There's restaurants and shopping inside and a movie theatre!

Backdraft
This is a sports bar & grill with a firefirghter kind of theme. Fairly new to the lake and has a bar area and a sectioned off pizzeria and sitting room if you come with the family! Perfect for if you want to go somewhere to watch the game or if you just want to grab a bite to eat for lunch. Their wings are delicious and most Friday and Saturday nights they have live bands playing cover songs and upbeat music. I've had a blast dancing with other vacationers and some locals to old 80s jams and newer music too! They have darts, pool and a beer pong game. During the summer the deck is open and they have a bar outside with TVs and high tops.
